Job description

Title: Mechanic

SUMMARY: Mechanic main responsibility is to provide repairs to customer vehicles when brought into the repair shop. Auto Mechanics work on everything from engines, to belts, to transmissions, to brakes. Their duties include repairing the vehicle's mechanical components, diagnosing problems with cars, and performing maintenance work on them as well.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pre-Scan vehicles to determine all codes
  • Assist the Estimator in a 100% accurate repair plan to avoid supplements and reduce cycle time
  • Suspension and alignments
  • Systematically diagnose electronic & wiring issues
  • Re-Calibrate onboard systems as necessary
  • Occasional full frame swaps
  • Diagnose wind noise/leaks
  • Perform quality control procedures and sign off at each stage of repair to ensure the final product meets your downstream customers expectations and ensures the customers satisfaction
  • Post-Scan vehicles to ensure all codes have been reset and repairs have been properly performed
  • Diagnostic repairs including electrical issues

Requirements:

  • Inspection and Emissions License
  • 5-10+ years experience in a similar role
  • I-CAR and other certifications are a plus
  • Must have own tools
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Predictable and reliable attendance required
  • Physical demand with the periodic lifting of objects over 50lbs
  • Must be open to Continuous education and training
