Location: Plano, TX (100% Onsite)

Overview
Our client is looking for a senior Mainframe Cybersecurity Software Engineer to help maintain and modernize a flagship enterprise software product. This role focuses on improving security, developing new features, troubleshooting customer issues, and working with both legacy mainframe and modern distributed technologies.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise software applications.
  • Improve the security of the platform using secure coding best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
  • Work closely with engineering, product management, and customers.
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor within the team.
Required Skills
  • 12+ years of software development experience.
  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong programming experience in at least two of the following:
    • IBM Assembler
    • COBOL
    • PL/I
    • C
    • C++
    • Java
    • .NET
  • Experience working with IBM z/OS (mainframe) and Windows/Linux/Unix environments.
  • Knowledge of secure coding, cybersecurity principles, encryption, access controls, and authentication.
  • Experience with mainframe security tools such as RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret.
  • Understanding of APIs, databases, client/server architecture, and object-oriented programming.
Preferred Skills
