SR. PROJECT MANAGER ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS
The Senior Project Manager - Enterprise Applications leads complex software lifecycle initiatives across McGough's enterprise application portfolio, coordinating upgrades, significant enhancements, integrations, and other changes that require structured project execution. This position provides end-to-end project leadership and partners closely with Information Technology, Information Systems, business leaders, operational teams, executive sponsors, and external partners to successfully deliver technology solutions across the organization.
The Senior Project Manager - Enterprise Applications oversees a diverse portfolio of initiatives that may include enterprise business applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, system integrations, data and reporting, construction technology, and business process improvements.
This position brings structure and direction to complex initiatives, manages competing priorities, anticipates risks, facilitates informed decision-making, and establishes accountability across cross-functional teams. The Senior IT Project Manager operates with a high degree of independence and serves as a trusted partner to technology and business leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience managing technology projects, including significant experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects involving multiple business departments, technical teams, vendors, and senior leaders.
- Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, and vendor relationships.
- Strong knowledge of established project management methodologies, practices, and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence individuals and teams without direct reporting authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with senior and executive leadership.
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex initiatives and competing priorities successfully.
Preferred:
- Experience in construction, engineering, architecture, real estate, or another project-based industry.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or a similar professional certification.
- Experience applying traditional, Agile, and hybrid project management methodologies based on the needs of the initiative.
- Experience managing enterprise applications, enterprise resource planning (ERP), financial system, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, integration, data, or construction technology projects.
- Familiarity with technologies that support construction office and field operations.
- Experience working within Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Experience supporting or establishing project portfolio management and IT governance processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Project Management:
- Lead complex, enterprise-wide technology projects from initiation and planning through implementation, stabilization, and closeout.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans that define scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, resources, milestones, dependencies, risks, and success criteria.
- Establish project governance, roles, responsibilities, decision-making processes, and communication expectations.
- Lead cross-functional teams consisting of IT professionals, business stakeholders, vendors, consultants, and other partners.
- Coordinate multiple technical and business workstreams to maintain alignment and effectively manage dependencies.
- Monitor project performance and proactively address issues that may affect scope, schedule, budget, quality, or business outcomes.
- Manage project changes and ensure impacts to scope, schedule, resources, costs, and business operations are appropriately evaluated and communicated.
- Establish and maintain accountability across project teams, escalating significant risks, issues, and decisions when appropriate.
- Ensure projects transition successfully from implementation to ongoing operational support.
- Lead project closeout activities, including documenting lessons learned and evaluating project outcomes against established success criteria.
Strategy Management:
- Partner with IT and business leaders to translate strategic priorities and operational needs into well-defined technology initiatives.
- Work with stakeholders to define business challenges, desired outcomes, requirements, and measures of success.
- Evaluate project feasibility, organizational readiness, dependencies, risks, resource requirements, and implementation approaches.
- Assist in developing business cases, estimates, implementation strategies, and recommendations.
- Facilitate decision-making among stakeholders with differing priorities, requirements, and perspectives.
- Provide recommendations and clearly communicate tradeoffs when projects encounter significant business or technology decisions.
- Develop strong working relationships across corporate functions, regional operations, and construction project teams.
Executive Communication & Project Governance:
- Provide clear, concise, and timely project reporting to IT leadership, executive sponsors, steering committees, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate project health, accomplishments, upcoming milestones, financial status, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions requiring leadership attention.
- Plan and facilitate executive sponsor and steering committee meetings for significant initiatives.
- Present complex technology topics in clear business terms appropriate for technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Escalate significant risks and issues early enough to support timely leadership action.
- Support IT leadership with project portfolio management, prioritization, resource planning, and governance activities.
Vendor Management:
- Participate in vendor evaluation and selection activities.
- Review vendor proposals, statements of work, implementation plans, estimates, schedules, and deliverables.
- Coordinate contractual and commercial discussions with appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Monitor vendor performance and hold external partners accountable for commitments, timelines, quality, and deliverables.
- Identify and proactively manage vendor-related risks and issues.
- Review project expenditures and invoices against approved budgets and contractual commitments.
Technology Implementation:
- Lead implementations involving enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, integrations, data and reporting, and construction technologies.
- Coordinate business and technical activities, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, development, testing, data migration, integration, deployment, training, and operational transition.
- Partner with IT technical teams to ensure solutions align with established architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and support standards.
- Develop implementation and cutover strategies that minimize disruption to business and construction operations.
- Ensure appropriate testing, user acceptance, documentation, training, support readiness, and business approvals are completed before implementation.
Additional duties as assigned:
- Actively contribute as a member of the Technology team, supporting shared goals and strategic initiatives.
- Participate in Lean improvement efforts and workflow optimization
- Participate in enterprise and departmental initiatives that support organizational goals and strategic priorities.
- Contribute to process improvement efforts that enhance governance, operational efficiency, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support cross-functional projects, system implementations, and organizational change management activities as assigned.
- Represent McGough on internal committees, working groups, or industry forums as appropriate.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet evolving business and organizational needs.

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee's workstation and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Employee needs to be able to lift to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and ability to distinguish between colors on graphs and charts.
Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $135,000 to $159,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.
Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth. Additionally, McGough offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. This includes insurance coverage for medical, dental, vision, life, and disability. We also provide generous retirement plans, voluntary benefit plans, parental leave, substantial paid time off, and holiday pay.
