Reporting to the Program Manager, the Weapon System Interface Engineer (System Engineer) designs, develops, integrates, and maintains hardware and software interfaces used to connect undersea vehicle systems with the WAF HWIL simulator environment.This is a contingent position expected to be located in Newport, RI. What You'll Do * Designs and develops hardware and software interfaces for undersea vehicle and weapon system integration. * Implements interfaces using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom hardware solutions. * Integrates hardware stimulators and interface drivers into the WAF simulation environment. * Troubleshoots and repairs hardware and software interface components. * Develops and maintains software development tools supporting interface integration. * Supports system integration testing and verification. * Documents interface designs, modifications, and integration procedures in accordance with project documentation requirements. * Bid and proposal support if requested. * Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications: * An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position. * Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required. * Three (3) years of experience developing customized interfaces for weapon systems utilizing commercial and custom hardware. * Five (5) years of experience developing customized interfaces for weapon systems. * Experience supporting hardware-in-the-loop simulators. * Experience with signal processing interfaces or diagnostic communications systems. * Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills. * Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Demonstrated problem-solving skills. * Must possess strong time management skills. * Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment. * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. Physical Requirements: * Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
