The Opportunity:
Are you looking for an opportunity to share your cybersecurity experience to protect and defend critical communications networks? As a systems security and network security engineer, you can become an integral part of our team responsible for developing and implementing effective cybersecurity strategies to enable a vital national security system to operate in compliance with the Department of Defense (DoD) and other requisite security requirements. We need your experience to lead a team of cybersecurity professionals responsible for securing a global communications network and facilitating its continuous, uninterrupted operation to transport and disseminate data to warfighters globally.
Our team is seeking a highly skilled, experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team supporting an enterprise-level program management office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity and will develop and implement security solutions in alignment with DoD security strategy.
What You'll Work On:
  • Implement security solutions compliant with DoD, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and Risk Management Framework (RMF) directives.
  • Apply advanced skills and extensive technical expertise to solve complex cybersecurity challenges.
  • Assess cybersecurity requirements, develop courses of action and POA&Ms, and proactively engage with clients and cybersecurity stakeholders to implement effective solutions.
  • Prepare reports to inform and advise senior technical staff and management both verbally and in writing.
  • Consistently coalesce with the systems security engineering team to prioritize and align system hardening activities to mitigate system vulnerabilities.
  • Lead tasks such as planning, execution, staff oversight, and status reporting for an enterprise-level program management office.
  • Utilize strong leadership skills and independence to work in a client-facing environment and mentor subordinate team members.
  • Engage effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide viable cybersecurity solutions.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with information assurance or cybersecurity
  • Experience serving as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) or Governance, Risk, and Compliance specialist
  • Experience with the Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization process to manage and administer an Authority to Operate (ATO) to maintain compliance with DoD, NIST, and RMF requirements
  • Experience utilizing the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) to address security controls, create POA&Ms, and upload artifacts such as STIG checklists and ACAS scans
  • Experience reviewing vulnerability documentation and developing Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) or courses of action to remediate findings
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 transition requirements and planning of implementation strategies
  • Ability to collaborate with program management office representatives such as ISSM, ISSE, assessors, systems architects, and systems engineering to manage accreditation
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Cybersecurity Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with cybersecurity assessments, security design engineering, and continuous threat monitoring
  • Experience serving as an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM)
  • Knowledge of commercial off-the-shelf networking equipment used for satellite communications systems
  • Knowledge of current or emerging industry standards and best practices in cybersecurity
  • Ability to decipher system or network designs, protocols, and physical configurations
  • Ability to conduct on-site security assessments and work cross-functionally with various teams
  • Top Secret clearance
  • CISSP Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
