The Cybersecurity Trust and Protection (CTP) Sr Information Security Manager (ISM) is a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer working with the business and technology teams as a solutions architect and cybersecurity subject matter expert to ensure identification of cyber related threats and vulnerabilities and alignment, implementation, and maintenance of controls according to risk profiles. The CTP ISM is expected to be highly competent in cyber security management practices, consultancy to Sr. Business Leadership, and a broad range of security disciplines and technology areas.

The CTP ISM will be expected act as a Cybersecurity Solutions Architect providing guidance to business and technology teams to ensure cybersecurity across the enterprise. As a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer they will need to assist the technology teams in the implementation and deployment of cybersecurity capabilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Partner with business and technology teams to understand enterprise objectives, initiatives, and organizational cyber security risk. Become a deeply embedded Cyber Security Consultant to the various lines of business and technology teams, enabling balanced operational readiness, risk prioritization, and risk quantification. Develop and evangelize partnerships between CTP and lines of business by empowering teams to build cyber security into new and existing business processes using a balanced and technology teams risk based approach. Evangelize a business-centric focus within CTP to align security objectives to business priorities ensuring security efforts are focused on business objectives/ assets/services critical to the business. Place security focus where is makes sense to protect the business.

Ensure the identification, analysis, management, and timely communication of information related threats and vulnerabilities. Provide business and technical advice on a wide variety of IT risk issues, concerns, and problems, making sure all business processes incorporate adequate information security.

Discretion and Independent Judgment

  • Exercises discretion and judgment in advising business and technology teams in cyber security strategy and alignment
  • Exercises discretion and judgment in managing personnel and performing personnel actions
  • Exercises discretion and judgment when working with business and technology counterparts

Management Authority

  • Regularly directs the work of two or more full time employees or the FTE equivalent
  • Determining and securing the resources and materials needed to perform the work of the unit

Functional/Technical Skills

  • Extensive understanding of business-centric cyber security strategy in large retail/mobile technology environment.
  • Excellent understanding of the cost of balancing risk and business in a complex retail environment.
  • Extensive experience leading and executing cyber security risk assessment activities for large enterprises.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing cyber security management programs.
  • Extensive knowledge of threat and vulnerability management practices in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise risk management practices, risk assessment methodologies, and the selection of each according to business objectives
  • Exceptional understanding of mitigating controls at the process, systems, network, application, and data level.
  • Strong knowledge of information security intelligence, monitoring, incident response and investigations.
  • Strong Knowledge of critical infrastructure and national telecommunication carrier security issues and requirements
  • Experience translating complex and ambiguous problems into understandable components and actionable plans.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and contractual requirements and best practices such as SOX, PCI, ITIL, and ISO 17799
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship skills, especially the ability to articulate advanced technical topics and build consensus among business and technical constituents.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent organization, administrative, interpersonal skills and project management.

Education & Experience

  • Over 12 years' experience in a dedicated information security role with 5 or more years in a large enterprise.
  • 5-7 years developing and leading enterprise cyber security management programs.
  • CISSP, CISM, or other security management related certification preferred.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, Masters preferred.
  • LI-KM3

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • A U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident of the United States
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Colorado pay range: $140,800 - $190,500

Washington Pay Range : $151,200.00 - $204,500.00

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives. And since we are ALL owners, EVERY employee at T-Mobile is eligible for an Annual Stock Grant.
