Job description

The Cybersecurity Instructor provides top-tier instructional services for the with the U.S. Army Senior Leader Development College's Cyber Network Defense (CND) programs. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging and effective instruction, refine existing course materials, and support students in developing expertise for 25D Cyber Network Defender and 255S Cyberspace Defense Technician roles.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelorโ€™s degree or five (6) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in office automation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Blackboard, and ATRRS.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility upon hire and maintain it throughout employment.
  • Experience fostering self-development in students within the 25 Series MOS or equivalent cyber roles.
  • Advanced writing skills, including the ability to create and tailor content.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing training catalogs, regulations, and reference files.
  • Someone who is highly task-oriented, capable of independently taking ownership of assignments and seeing them through to completion using available resources. The ideal candidate should also can develop and implement efficient processes that enhance team performance and overall effectiveness.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Completion of the Common Faculty Developmentโ€“Instructor Course (CFD-IC) and Support Cadre Training Course (SCTC).
  • The ability to quickly learn and apply skills in Linux, PowerShell, and Windows automation
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or the ability to achieve certification within the first six months of employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction and contribute to curriculum development for courses under the U.S. Army Cyber School.
  • Mentor and guide students, tailoring instruction to individual learning needs while progressively increasing the complexity of tasks.
  • Continuously evaluate and update course materials, ensuring relevance and alignment with Army Cyber School objectives.
  • Develop and enhance curriculum using the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (ADDIE) methodology.
  • Fulfill Instructor/Writer duties, including crafting comprehensive lesson plans and practical exercises aligned with the Cybersecurity frameworks and Army training standards.
  • Must have CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)/ SecurityX certification or be able to obtain it within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Must be able to instruct Army Warrant Officers and Senior Enlisted personnel with a high degree of confidence regarding complex Cybersecurity frameworks and technical doctrine as it applies to military and civilian workforces.
