Position overview

Cyber Advisors is seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as a strategic and operational leader within the finance organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP of Finance will be a critical partner in scaling the company's financial infrastructure during a transformative period of growth. In addition to helping drive continued improvements in monthly reporting and analytics, this role will also help manage the implementation of NetSuite, work with external consultants to develop a Data Platform for reporting financial and operating metrics, and work with the Head of M&A to develop success KPIs and track synergies. This position is a Hybrid role based out of our Maple Grove, MN headquarters.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain board-ready financial presentations, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis with variance commentary.
  • Build dynamic financial models and dashboards that provide real-time visibility into revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, and key operational metrics across all business units.
  • Utilize Data Platform to create dynamic customer profitability reporting
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and rolling forecast processes; deliver scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, and service delivery leaders to translate financial results into actionable operational insights.

NetSuite ERP Implementation:

  • Serve as the internal project lead for the NetSuite ERP implementation.
  • Work with the system implementor to define business requirements, the chart of accounts design, workflow configurations, and integration architecture.
  • Drive the migration from the legacy accounting system to NetSuite, ensuring data integrity, process continuity, and minimal operational disruption.
  • Establish user training programs and change management protocols to ensure successful adoption across finance, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Oversee post-go-live optimization, including custom reporting, saved searches, dashboards, and workflow automation.

Data Lake Standup & Business Intelligence:

  • Lead the design and implementation of a centralized data lake to aggregate financial, operational, and commercial data from disparate source systems (NetSuite, PSA/RMM tools, CRM, HRIS, etc.).
  • Partner with IT and data engineering resources to define the data architecture, ETL processes, data governance policies, and access controls.
  • Develop a BI reporting layer (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) that enables self-service analytics for finance and executive stakeholders.
  • Establish a single source of truth for key financial and operational metrics, eliminating manual data consolidation and spreadsheet dependency.
  • Define data quality standards, validation rules, and reconciliation procedures to ensure accuracy and trustworthiness of reporting outputs.
  • Create a roadmap for advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive modeling, cohort analysis, and customer profitability analysis.

M&A and Financial Integration:

  • Lead the financial integration workstream for acquired entities, coordinating cross-functional activities and timelines.
  • Drive integration milestones and help resolve issues that arise during the integration process.
  • Bridge legacy and acquired company accounting processes to align with Cyber Advisors' standard processes.
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks within existing processes.
  • Create and deliver training materials to ensure smooth adoption by acquired teams.
  • Identify overlapping or redundant vendors resulting from acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to shut down products, services, or systems that are no longer required post-integration.
  • Ensure proper financial, contractual, and operational closure.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for finance-related questions during and after integration.
KEY CRITERIA
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Proactively identify and help implement process efficiencies.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Prior project management experience is preferred.
Technical skills
  • Experience in finding and analyzing root causes of variances in detail to identify impacts on future periods.
  • Hands-on experience building financial reporting infrastructure, dashboards, and KPI frameworks from the ground up.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a NetSuite implementation or major ERP system deployment from planning through post-go-live optimization.
  • Experience with data lake or data warehouse design, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar), and the ability to partner effectively with technical data teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (VP, Senior Director, or equivalent).
  • Proven track record in a private equity-backed or sponsor-owned environment, with direct experience supporting PE reporting requirements and board-level communication.
  • Strong M&A experience, including due diligence, financial modeling, post-acquisition integration, and earnout tracking.

Education and certifications
