Concord University is hiring a Cybersecurity Specialist to assist in protecting the University's computer systems, networks, applications, and data from cyber threats and security vulnerabilities.
This entry-level position is responsible for assisting with the planning, implementation, and monitoring of cybersecurity measures to safeguard sensitive information and support the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of University technology resources.
The Cybersecurity Specialist will monitor security systems, identify potential vulnerabilities, assist with responding to security incidents, and support cybersecurity awareness and compliance efforts across the University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Assessment: Identify security vulnerabilities and assist with assessing risks to University data, systems, networks, and applications.
  • Security Implementation: Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of security protocols, controls, and measures designed to protect University technology resources from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
  • Security Monitoring: Monitor networks, systems, and security tools for suspicious or unauthorized activity and assist with investigating and responding to security alerts and incidents.
  • Incident Response: Assist with the investigation, documentation, containment, and resolution of cybersecurity incidents in accordance with University policies and procedures.
  • Vulnerability Management: Assist with vulnerability assessments, security scans, and remediation efforts to identify and address weaknesses in University systems and applications.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Document security incidents, vulnerabilities, and related activities and prepare reports for management and other appropriate stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT staff and other University departments to help ensure systems, applications, and technology resources are secure, appropriately configured, and kept up to date.
  • Education and Awareness: Promote cybersecurity awareness by assisting with training, communications, and awareness campaigns related to current and emerging information security threats and best practices.
  • Policy and Compliance: Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable University policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to information security and data protection.
