Job Summary

Work as part of the Service Management team on various cloud and on-premise platforms, supporting development and configuration activities in all aspects including design, testing, peer reviews and more. Provide all levels of technical and functional support for specific systems. Advise and assist clients in support of the maintenance and enhancements to system and requirements gathering.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Participates with our senior developer team in the design and development of solutions appropriate to business and systems requirements within the target platform
  • Participates with senior staff in peer reviews of technical specifications of client requirements and schedules
  • Identifies opportunities and assists in the research and recommendation of forward-thinking initiatives to advance functionality / performance and reduce costs
  • Provides accurate and timely Level of Effort (LOE) analysis estimates for requested small to medium solutions.
  • Participates in code-walkthroughs and provides feedback to other team members
  • Creates clear, concise, and standard technical documentation and specifications for solutions and provides input into relevant documentation prepared by other groups
  • Assists in troubleshooting and problem solving for new applications/system modification within the team and provides solutions which promote best practices and standard procedures
  • Learn and support existing applications
  • Analyze, evaluate, and solve technical and non-technical (support process) problems and changes to the systems and its components, i.e. the workstation level as well as multi-user environments

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Graduated from a recognized university/college with a degree/certification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Systems, Math, Engineering or an acceptable combination of education, related experience, and training.

Experience:

  • Experience with ServiceNow is an exceptional asset
  • Experience with Microsoft tools (i.e. Office tools, SharePoint, Visual Studio)
  • Experience in debugging and code optimization
  • Experience analyzing, recommending, designing, and implementing solutions appropriate to the core technologies used, including an understanding of the Core Functionality, Reporting, Interfaces, Customizations and Extensions and how each will fit into the existing environment
  • Experience using JavaScript
  • Experience with Python, Java
  • Experience using source control and code repositories
  • Knowledge and experience with Project Management and Patch Management processes

Knowledge :

  • Knowledge of the cloud and various cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of modern software development life cycle and software configuration management processes, practices, and techniques, including Agile, Scrum, Cloud Solutions, and DevOps.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy considerations in systems.
  • Knowledge of development best practices and coding standards

  • Strong ability to effectively communicate insights verbally, visually, and in writing.
  • Ability to establish rapport, build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, business partners and managers
  • Great at analyzing and solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing, and implementing solutions to complex technical issues
