Job description

This is a hybrid role that may be based near any listed location and requires travel to client sites.

As a Data Protection Senior Analyst, you'll support the delivery of data protection, data governance, and privacy solutions for Avanade clients. You'll work under the guidance of senior team members to help design, implement, and operate data protection capabilities while building strong foundational skills in security, compliance, and client delivery.

What you'll do
  • Support client engagements focused on data protection, data governance, and compliance initiatives.

  • Assist with configuration and administration of Microsoft Purview capabilities (e.g., sensitivity labels/encryption, DLP policies, data classification/discovery, Insider Risk Management).

  • Participate in requirements gathering, workshops, and documentation efforts.

  • Execute assigned tasks within project plans and contribute to on-time, high-quality delivery.

  • Develop technical documentation, configuration guides, and client-ready deliverables.

  • Actively pursue learning, certifications, and hands-on experience in data protection technologies.

  • Contribute to emerging areas such as AI and agentic AI security, under guidance.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 or Azure environments preferred.

  • Prior internship, academic project, or entry-level experience in security or compliance is a plus.

  • Microsoft security-related certifications strongly preferred (e.g., SC-900, AB-900, AI-901).

  • Developing knowledge of Microsoft Purview (Information Protection, DLP, and data governance).

  • Microsoft 365 security and compliance fundamentals.

  • Familiarity with Copilot/AI data risk considerations and emerging security controls.
