Job description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of IT Department to join Hyundai MOBIS. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and optimizing IT infrastructure and core systems that support manufacturing operations. The position plays a critical role in ensuring operational stability, compliance, and driving digital transformation initiatives. The Head of IT Department will lead a dedicated on-site IT team, manage annual IT business plans and budgets, and align technology strategies with corporate and plant objectives. This role will work at MOBIS, Savannah Plant (MSV).


(To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  1. IT Infrastructure & Operations
  • Oversee the plant’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, endpoints, and cloud solutions.
  • Ensure operational stability, scalability, and security through lifecycle management and monitoring
  • Manage vendor relationships for system maintenance, procurement, and technical support.
  1. Systems Planning & Optimization
  • Lead planning and optimization of manufacturing support systems, including MES and other critical platforms.
  • Ensure seamless integration between IT systems and plant operations, delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design IT systems that align with manufacturing process and business objectives, manage system upgrades, patches, and security enhancements.
  1. IT Team Leadership
  • Lead and develop the plant-level IT team by setting clear objectives, providing coaching, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative, problem-solving culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Align local IT initiatives with corporate IT strategies and plant priorities.
  1. Annual Planning & Budget Execution
  • Develop and execute annual IT business plans and budgets aligned with operational goals.
  • Oversee investment decisions, contract management, and financial reporting.
  • Support internal audits and ensure fiscal accountability.

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, cybersecurity standards, and data governance requirements.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5 years or more of MES support experience in manufacturing IT environments
  • 3 years or more of Experience in people management in manufacturing IT environment

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of strategic, conceptual, and consultative process
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Improvement of MES system and development of user's requirement
  • Experience in performance optimization for MES systems and Microsoft SQL Database
  • Experience in programming language: C#, .NET, MS-SQL, JAVA
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, people-management, leadership, and communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bilingual speaker (English and Korean) is a plus.
  • Automotive industry experience.
