Position Title: Staff Cybersecurity Engineer - Aircraft Power Systems
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire opportunity for a highly skilled Staff Cybersecurity Engineer - Aircraft Power Systems to join our client's team in Kirkland, WA. This is a hybrid role offering the flexibility to WFH 2-3 days per week.
Job Description:
  • Our client is a leader in aerospace power solutions, offering the chance to work on safety-critical, groundbreaking systems that directly impact the future of flight.
  • As a Staff Cybersecurity Engineer, you will be crucial to designing and securing next-generation aircraft power systems and equipment.
  • You will leverage technical expertise and innovative thinking to develop electrical power solutions that enhance system reliability, optimize weight, and reduce cost for aviation applications.
  • This role combines advanced technical skills, customer interaction, and teamwork.
  • Within the first three months, you will spearhead the definition and verification of security requirements for various aircraft electrical power products.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Innovative Electrical Power Systems: Establish credibility with customers by actively engaging in the design and certification of secure aircraft electrical power systems and equipment.
  • Build the client's reputation as a leading expert in aircraft electrical power systems within our market segment.
  • System Security Planning: Develop comprehensive plans to demonstrate compliance with airworthiness regulations and key performance parameters related to security concerns.
  • Formulate plans for ongoing security maintenance to ensure continued compliance with airborne cybersecurity requirements.
  • Security Risk Assessment: Apply knowledge of airworthiness security processes, methods, and considerations to offer logical recommendations and develop requirements that align with regulations and key performance parameters.
  • Ensure systems' compliance by providing certification evidence as per RTCA DO-326A, DO-356A, and DO-355A.
  • High-Performance Team Environment: Actively collaborate with cross-functional team members (electrical, software, test, mechanical engineers, program management, manufacturing, and supply chain).
  • Foster a positive team dynamic by sharing knowledge, offering constructive feedback, and supporting team objectives.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and a proactive attitude towards conflict resolution.
  • Develop cooperative relationships with internal engineering resources.
  • Advise management in making informed decisions about cybersecurity implementation in products.
  • Contribute to the professional growth of less experienced engineers and play a critical role in major design and peer reviews. Assure the quality of designs through diligent oversight and guidance.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in requirements capture and management with tools such as DOORS, Jama, Caliber, or Polarion.
  • Experience in the aviation industry.
  • Experience adhering to defined system development processes.
  • Mastery of Aerospace cybersecurity standards such as DO-326, DO-355, and DO-356.
  • Knowledge of aircraft electrical power systems.
  • Ability to author technical documents, including specifications and plans, and process documents.
  • Competence in presenting technical information to customers and management.

Job Details:
  • Job Type: Direct Hire
  • Location: Kirkland, WA. Hybrid with flexible work arrangement (2-3 days remote per week).
  • Salary Range: Base salary range: $132,983 - $199,474 per year
  • ITAR obligations: Must be a US Person under ITAR regulations.
  • Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test, including cannabis screening.
