General Job Summary:

Responsible for managing the maintenance, deployment and troubleshooting of all applicable IT hardware, business software and network infrastructure. This position will ensure the efficient flow of all computerized data. Much of the duties for this position require a customer-service minded individual who is focused on addressing the internal customers’ needs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages, responds to and closes out IT tickets in the work request system and troubleshoots network, software and hardware issues as they are reported. This may include resolving issues related to printers, label printer, desktop computers, phones, tablets, laptops, scanning devices, miscellaneous peripherals, offsite remote network access, software issues, etc:
  • Responsible for setting up and deploying new desktop and laptop pcs
  • Responsible for setting up and configuring new network users thru Microsoft Server 2019 Active Directory, as well as conducting new user IT orientations.
  • Responsible for maintaining a mix of on-premises PSTN and VoIP phone systems in our manufacturing facilities. Should be able to troubleshoot basic telephony-related problems and deploy/move phones as the need arises.
  • Responsible for maintaining the list of all IT related equipment, as described earlier.
  • Responsible for documenting standard procedures for troubleshooting and installing software or setting up new hardware.
  • Responsible for tracking and managing IT inventory maintained in the Plex Cloud ERP system
  • Responsible for monthly review of regular IT-related invoices for approval
  • Occasionally may need to perform regular maintenance on 5 servers (eg., (MCL-DC03 - Microsoft Server 2019 set as our primary Domain Controller; Security System PC; Repartee for our Voice Mail system; MCL-DC02 – Backup Domain Controller located in Microsoft Azure cloud; and MCL-FS02 – Primary File Server located in Microsoft Azure cloud.
  • Coordinates the application of upgrades, system printing, system faxing, setting up personal printers.
  • As needed, works to educate fellow associates with a basic understanding of the computer, the flow of data and help them gain confidence. May occasionally be asked to assist with the creation of standard procedures for other departments
  • Addresses all backup procedures and makes sure the Company is always ready to reconstruct all systems. Backups are automatically performed daily.
  • Examines software applications and works to standardize Company software deployments.
  • Responsible for establishing, advising and monitoring corporate policy regarding Systems and Network Security as well as Access and Use.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by supervisor/ manager.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge and experience working in and troubleshooting with the Windows O/S.
  • The individual should have 3-4 years of experience working in a help desk support and/or customer service business environment.
  • Should also have strong knowledge and experience using and troubleshooting issues related to Microsoft Office 365 products (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Forms) and Internet Browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox).
  • Should have strong experience working with Microsoft Server features and roles, including Group Policy mgmt, Active Directory, Printer Mgmt, etc. Ideally will have Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification for MS Server.
  • Should have exposure and familiarity with MRP/ERP business systems (preferably Plex Manufacturing Cloud), and the capability to learn in a short time frame. Will need to manage and control IT Dept supplies and components.
  • Though not required, ideally would have a background/experience in object-oriented programming (C#, C++, VBA, Python), command line scripting (Javascript, Powershell, Cmd, etc), Report Writing software (and SQL Statement writing (T-SQL preferred).
  • Should have exposure to/familiarity with enterprise cyber security software and systems. Ideally has a working knowledge and 1-2 years of experience

Language Skills:

Very High Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills:

Intermediate Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Very High Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
