Employment Notice: Rock Valley College does not offer sponsorship for employment-based visas for this position.
General Duties: Adjunct instructors will be responsible for creating the class syllabus and planning class content, utilizing RVC's Learning Management System (EAGLE).
Essential Job Functions:
  • Teach courses required in CIS degree programs
  • Meet classes at assigned times
  • Maintain accurate course records and submit related reports as requested
  • Effectively assess student performance
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment for students
  • Utilize multiple strategies to facilitate learning, i.e. small group work, workshops, etc.
  • Incorporate new technologies and methods that enhance teaching and learning into his/her instructional methods
  • Support the Department and College through other work normally expected of adjunct faculty members
  • Maintain office hours convenient for students
  • Instruct students in the proper use of lab equipment where appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Credentials Bachelor's Degree in CIS or a closely related field or closely related business experience. Successful teaching experience at a Community College preferred but not required.
Background should include working knowledge of one or more of the following areas:
Microsoft Office 2019 experience including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Common information technology terminology and concepts including basic concepts of hardware, software, networking, web design and cybersecurity
