Job description

Not a Job. A Mission. Founded in 2006 from the creators of Kali Linux, OffSec (formerly Offensive Security) is the powerhouse behind the world’s most respected cybersecurity training and certifications. We don’t just teach theory—we live by our try harder ethos, delivering hands‑on, real‑world learning that builds elite defenders and closes the global infosec talent gap. At OffSec, you’ll be part of a mission‑driven team shaping the future of cybersecurity. With colleagues across 45+ countries, our community thrives on diversity, expertise, and passion—ranging from published authors and keynote speakers to government advisors and private‑sector innovators. Work from anywhere. Collaborate with brilliant minds. Push boundaries. If you’re ready to grow, make an impact, and be part of something bigger— join us.

The Role

Ready to turn your hard‑earned cybersecurity mastery into world‑class training that inspires and equips the next generation of defenders? Offensive Security is hunting for a Senior Content Engineer who’s equal parts cyber sorcerer, technical tinkerer, and content visionary.

This isn’t your average “sit behind a desk” gig. You’ll be: Crafting high‑impact, hands‑on labs that make learners sweat (in the best way). Weaving cutting‑edge attack and defense scenarios into unforgettable training. Shaping the future of OffSec’s legendary certifications. Leading development of advanced and real‑world defensive training content and exercises. Leading, mentoring, and pushing your teammates to go further, faster, smarter. If you crave a challenge, thrive in high‑stakes environments, and love blending hardcore technical skill with creative content engineering—this role was built for you.

What You’ll Be DoingContent Development

Design and develop immersive cybersecurity training content, focusing on detection, prevention, and security analysis — equal parts brutal and brilliant. Mentor teammates, set the technical bar high, and refine content for maximum clarity and accuracy. Collaborate across teams to keep labs and learning material fresh, relevant, and seamless.

Content Engineering

Build and oversee next‑level training environments with VMs, cloud infrastructure, and automation. Develop and test complex and stable lab environments that provide a great learner experience. Troubleshoot like a pro—solving complex lab integration issues with precision and flair.

Applied Technical Expertise

Create realistic, scenario‑driven challenges that push learners out of their comfort zones. Validate, test, and enhance training environments with your security analysis and DFIR chops. Stay on the bleeding edge—bring emerging threats, adversarial tactics, and defense strategies into our content.

What You Bring

7+ years in cybersecurity, virtual environment engineering, and technical content development, focused on strengthening organizational defenses and security maturity. Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and Active Directory security —specializing in detection engineering, threat hunting, and hardening against enumeration, privilege escalation, lateral movement, and persistence techniques. Skilled in AI-assisted development of security tooling and proof‑of‑concept defenses that improve visibility, automate response, and reduce risk. Extensive experience evaluating and improving AV/EDR effectiveness, validating controls, and designing detections to identify real‑world bypass and evasion methods. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical threats into clear, engaging, and actionable guidance for diverse audiences. Strong research mindset —rigorously testing assumptions, validating threats, and converting findings into practical learning and security improvements. Proven leadership and mentorship, driving projects forward, improving processes, and elevating team capability. Effective collaborator across global teams, cultures, and time zones, with a focus on shared security outcomes.
