Job description

About the role
Integer Technologies seeks a Cyber Engineering Manager to lead a 3 to 4 person team conducting advanced research and development on cyber physical systems relevant to Navy ashore and afloat platforms. This role provides technical direction for multiple year Navy funded research involving cyber-physical modeling, dynamic cyber defense design, embedded systems security, and AI/ML enabled detection tools. The Cyber Engineering Manager will oversee technical execution, guide LSU collaboration, manage project schedules and deliverables, and support transition of new technologies into Navy environments. This role requires both hands-on R&D expertise and strong engineering management capabilities across complex, multi-phase research programs.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead a team performing cyber physical system modeling, cyber risk analysis, dynamic cyber defense research, and feasibility studies for Navy relevant systems.
  • Direct research into AI/ML based anomaly detection methods for embedded systems, including Bayesian, graph based, and adversarial approaches.
  • Manage integration of university driven research, including memory forensics, fuzzing, and binary analysis techniques, into embedded system security workflows.
  • Oversee design and execution of bench scale experiments, digital modeling environments, and controlled field demonstrations to validate cyber physical resilience approaches.
  • Provide engineering leadership and management including technical direction, scheduling, deliverable tracking, documentation quality, CUI data security, and coordination with external sponsors and research collaborators.
  • Lead technology transition planning, operator training sessions, and collaboration with Navy and industry partners to scale cyber physical resilience solutions into operational systems.
  • Contribute to business development by shaping new research directions, developing technical proposal content, and cultivating relationships with government sponsors.

Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree and 5 years of experience, in cybersecurity, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience leading cyber physical systems research involving modeling, simulation, cyber risk assessment, and dynamic cyber defense design.
  • Background with state-of-the-art cybersecurity approaches, including AI/ML based anomaly detection, embedded systems security, memory forensics, fuzzing, and binary analysis.
  • Experience managing engineering teams and multi-phase R&D programs with complex deliverables.
  • Ability to design and supervise execution of laboratory and field based cyber physical experiments.
  • Excellent communication skills, including documentation of complex technical findings and ability to communicate clearly with new customers and government sponsors.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with cyber research for Navy or maritime ashore and afloat platforms.
  • Proficiency developing digital modeling environments to simulate cyber physical interactions and mission impacts.
  • Experience transitioning technologies to government or industry partners.
  • Familiarity with DoW research program workflows.
