This position is located onsite in Detroit, MI

Job Description

The Cyber Expert is a lead subject matter expert responsible for driving cybersecurity strategy, advanced technical guidance, and compliance advisory services across enterprise and government programs. This role blends deep technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and leadership, serving as a trusted advisor to customers, executives, and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior Cyber SME across compliance, architecture, and risk domains
  • Lead cybersecurity assessments, gap analyses, and risk evaluations
  • Provide expert recommendations to executives and customers on cybersecurity posture
  • Lead and oversee initiatives supporting CMMC, NIST, and federal compliance frameworks
  • Review and validate SSPs, POA&Ms, and compliance artifacts
  • Guide teams through readiness, remediation strategies, and sustainment
  • Set technical direction for secure system design and control implementation
  • Mentor Technical Cyber Specialists and mid-level cyber staff
  • Validate architecture decisions across cloud, network, and enterprise systems
  • Support government customers with briefings, advisory services, and technical leadership
  • Participate in customer meetings, executive briefings, and proposal support activities
  • Represent Eccalon as a senior cybersecurity authority in program and external engagements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
  • 8–15+ years of cybersecurity experience with senior-level responsibility
  • Proven expertise in cybersecurity compliance, risk, and technical controls
  • Strong ability to communicate risk and strategy to executive audiences
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent
  • Prior experience as:
    • Cyber Advisor
    • Cyber SME
    • Security Architect
  • Experience supporting proposals, customer strategy, or cyber advisory programs
