Job description

We are looking for someone who can develop and manage welding procedures and ensure welding work meets AWS standards.

This role focuses on WPS / PQR development, welder qualifications, and welding quality oversight for steel and aluminum fabrication.

You will work closely with the fabrication team to make sure weld procedures are correct, documented, and followed in the shop.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain WPS and PQR documentation
• Qualify welders and maintain qualification records
• Ensure welding work meets AWS code requirements
• Support fabrication teams with welding procedures and best practices
• Review welding processes for steel and aluminum fabrication
• Maintain welding documentation and quality records
• Help improve welding consistency and production quality

Requirements

2-5+ years experience in welding engineering, welding quality, or welding inspection
• Experience developing or managing WPS / PQR documentation
• Strong knowledge of steel and aluminum welding processes
• Experience qualifying welders and reviewing welding procedures
• Understanding of AWS welding codes

Bonus Experience

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• Experience with NAVSEA / NAV-C welding standards
