Lake Seminole Square is seeking a hospitalityfocused, fulltime Driver. This role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of residents to individual and group activities, community events, and medical appointments.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Safely transport residents who use wheelchairs or other mobility devises to scheduled activities, appointments, events, and outings.
  • Safely assist residents with boarding and exiting the wheelchair-accessible vehicle while maintaining their dignity, comfort, and privacy.
  • Properly operate wheelchair lifts, ramps, and other accessibility equipment.
  • Properly secure wheelchairs and mobility devices using the appropriate safety restraints and equipment before and during transportation.
  • Provide courteous and attentive assistance to residents throughout the transportation process.
  • Complete a safety inspection of the applicable vehicle, wheelchair lift/ramp, restraints, and other transportation equipment before transporting residents.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report any vehicle, lift, ramp, or equipment concerns promptly.
  • Accurately record vehicle mileage, resident attendance, and other required transportation information.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly vehicle and transportation area.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, families, team members, and medical or activity staff.
  • Maintain a calm, patient, and reassuring demeanor when assisting residents with mobility needs.
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
  • Valid driver's license in the applicable state.
  • Clean driving record that meets company Driver Selection Policy standards.
  • Previous experience transporting or assisting individuals who use wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility devices is strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating wheelchair-accessible vehicles, lifts, ramps, and wheelchair restraint systems is preferred.
  • Ability to safely assist residents with boarding and exiting a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, compassion, and respect when working with seniors and individuals with mobility limitations.
  • Courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow map directions.
  • Ability to work independently while following established safety and transportation procedures.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and a positive attitude in a senior living environment.
