This CVOR OR Registered Nurse opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift position. This dynamic individual will provide direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and pain management inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses operating room / procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
* Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (both accomplished in partnership with patient inside room)
* Takes appropriate actions and documents in response to manifested anxiety or distress. Requests Social Services/Pastoral Care, as appropriate
* Gives patient explanations and verbal reassurances consistently
* Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, as indicated, and evaluates for effectiveness
* Identifies physical symptoms and changes and takes appropriate actions in a timely manner
