Job description

SUMMARY
The Welder/Assembler position is responsible for MIG and TIG welding of aluminum and stainless steel parts to create a tank to be mounted on a truck chassis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Hand plasma cutting
  • Fitting assemblies to weld
  • Tubing and fitting welding
  • Confined space welding, 30-45 minutes per task
  • 20-25% weld time for this position
  • Welding with quality and attention to cosmetic detail is a MUST
  • Read and understand Blueprints
  • Work Safely and Maintain clean and organized work area
  • Operate Miller and Lincoln welding equipment
  • Operate lifting equipment
  • Operate standard fabrication equipment such as horizontal saw, drill press, grinders.
  • Operate plasma cutter, cutting torch, and hand saws
  • Perform quality checks on finished assemblies
  • Fabricate minor brackets as needed
  • Must adhere to all company safety and operation policies
  • Use established construction techniques to build tanks
Job Qualifications
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Proven experience in conducting quality inspections.
  • Strategic thinker and strong analytical skills.
  • Good eye for detail and understand quality levels set for tank construction
  • Analyze problems, detect root causes and resolve all issues.
  • Excellent time management, planning, organization and prioritization skills.
  • Self-motivator with solid interpersonal skills, achievement oriented.
  • Be aware of Health and Safety standards and their implication in the workplace.
  • PC skills in Microsoft Excel, Word.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Diploma or Certificate of welding school or at least one year of equivalent work experience welding similar materials using GTAW/GMAW process.
