Customs & Trade Compliance Manager
Your main responsibilities

This hybrid leadership role combines governance and operational support to ensure consistent customs and trade compliance across a global organization. Reporting within Finance, the role develops the global compliance framework, standardizes processes, manages complex escalations, and strengthens financial controls, risk management, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the global customs and trade compliance framework, ensuring alignment with financial controls, audits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Standardize customs processes and support implementation of global policies, procedures, and best practices across regions.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex customs and trade compliance issues, providing expert guidance and ensuring consistent resolution.
  • Oversee customs brokers and external trade partners, monitoring performance and compliance with global standards.
  • Identify and mitigate customs-related financial and compliance risks while supporting audit readiness and remediation activities.
  • Analyze customs data, duty spend, and operational performance to drive cost optimization, process improvements, and informed decision-making.
 
What you bring

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, International Trade, Law, or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree, including 7-10+ years of progressive customs and trade compliance experience with strong technical expertise in customs classification, valuation, origin, and import/export processes.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of customs and trade compliance experience, with demonstrated technical expertise in:
  • Customs classification, valuation, and origin
  • Tariff regulations and IEEPA requirements
  • Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)
  • Global trade compliance frameworks
  • Experience working with ERP and trade management systems (e.g., SAP, SAP GTS).
  • Ability to manage complex customs matters and adapt to changing regulatory requirements while balancing classification and trade compliance priorities.
