About the Role

The Customs Coordinator, reporting to the Customs Manager, is a pivotal member of the Customs team who brings accuracy to the completion of document preparation. As a member of the operations team, our Customs Coordinator must be able to meet deadlines and communicate clearly with internal and external clients to ensure the correct documents are received, created and delivered for end-to-end freight clearances. The ability to easily identify key information from a BOL and Customs Invoices to accurately generate customs documents promptly with accuracy is essential to the success of the team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development of documents such as manifests, PAPS/PARS, ACE/ACI
  • Utilizing electronic customs systems to generate clearance manifests for cross-border shipments (border connect CBSA ACI Portal and CBP Ace Portal)
  • Communicate with Drivers, Dispatchers, Customs Brokers, CBP (US and Border Protection), and CBSA to resolve customs related issues
  • Arrive and Export Customs bonds electronically
  • Submit clearance requests to Customs Brokers
  • Ensure accurate record retention (Synergize) and update internal software accurately
  • Creating and updating Shipper, and Consignee profile records

Position Competencies:

  • Minimum 1 year experience of Transportation industry experience required
  • Experience with TMW an asset
  • Experience with BorderConnect, CBSA ACI Portal. CBP ACE Portal an
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English
  • Exceptional level of organizational skills
  • Post secondary diploma/ certification
  • Experience with customs clearances processes and relevant documents
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Professionalism, punctuality and a high level of organization is required
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and uphold organizational values.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to administratively verify and process documentation for the creation of supporting documentation
