Job description

CHB Operations Associate
Florham Park, NJ 07932 Contract-to-Hire Monday-Friday | Full-Time $27.00-$29.80/Hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented CHB Operations Associate to support Customs House Brokerage (CHB) operations for a portfolio of import customers. In this role, you will help ensure shipments move through U.S. Customs efficiently, compliantly, and on time while providing excellent customer service and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Process U.S. Customs entries and Partner Government Agency (PGA) filings.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customers, providing shipment updates and resolving inquiries.
  • Coordinate shipment clearances with freight forwarders, steamship lines, airlines, and CFS locations.
  • Track and trace inbound shipments from arrival through final delivery.
  • Manage entry files and ensure documentation is uploaded accurately and timely.
  • Prepare delivery orders, customer billing, and operational reports.
  • Maintain customer SOPs and support continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet service levels and customer expectations.

Qualifications
  • 6-12 months of customs brokerage, freight forwarding, import/export, or logistics experience required.
  • Prior experience in a Customs House Brokerage (CHB) environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and brokerage operating systems.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Customs House Broker License is a plus but not required.
