Job Summary (Basic Functions):
LG Chem America is seeking a Logistics & Customs Planning Specialist to support the Americas' subsidiary's logistics operations and strengthen trade compliance management.
This role plays a key part in managing import and export customs operations and trade compliance, optimizing logistics processes and systems, and monitoring logistics KPIs across the Americas. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with global teams, including Korea headquarters, and to contribute to strategic projects that enhance supply chain efficiency and compliance.
What You'll Be Doing
Responsibilities
1. Customs and Trade Compliance
  • Manage import and export customs operations and respond to customs, tariff, and trade-related issues.
  • Monitor changes in customs regulations and trade policies, assess their business impact, and develop appropriate response plans.
  • Review HTS classifications, countries of origin, duty rates, and eligibility for duty exemptions or reductions.
  • Identify potential customs risks and improve internal processes to strengthen trade compliance.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, overseas entities, and internal stakeholders to resolve customs and trade-related issues.

2. Logistics Process and System Optimization
  • Analyze existing logistics processes and systems to identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement standardized logistics processes across regional subsidiaries and operations in the Americas.
  • Lead logistics system improvement and automation initiatives in collaboration with IT teams, regional subsidiaries, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor system performance and user adoption and provide ongoing support to ensure process stability and operational effectiveness.
  • Leverage logistics data and digital tools to improve operational visibility, data accuracy, productivity, and decision-making.

3. Americas Logistics KPI Management and Improvement
  • Establish, monitor, and manage logistics KPIs across the Americas, including logistics costs, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, lead time, and service performance.
  • Collect and analyze logistics performance data from regional entities, warehouses, carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
  • Analyze KPI results and cost variances, identify root causes, and develop improvement initiatives and action plans.
  • Prepare regular logistics performance reports and management presentations covering operations across the Americas.
  • Support logistics cost optimization and service-level improvement by analyzing freight rates, contracts, transportation performance, and warehouse operations.

Qualifications
1. Education
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Experience
• 3-5 years of experience in customs clearance, logistics or supply chain.
• Experience in customs operations, or logistics improvement projects preferred.
• Exposure to SAP modules and advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills required.
3. Skills & Knowledge
• Strong understanding of customs systems, import/export processes, and trade compliance.
• Solid knowledge of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and 3PL management.
• Proficiency in SAP SD/MM modules and advanced Excel (data analysis, reporting) and PowerPoint.
• Ability to leverage AI tools for data analysis, process optimization, and reporting.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with global teams and cross-cultural environments.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management capabilities.
4. Preferred Attributes
• Experience collaborating with Korea headquarters and global subsidiaries.
• Ability to communicate effectively with logistics providers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.
