Job description

MERCHANT SUPPORT

Enhanced Payment Systems — Chicago, IL
Full-Time | In-Office
Enhanced Payment Systems is looking for a confident, customer-focused
professional to join our Merchant Support Department. In this role, you will
assist existing merchants with questions and account concerns while building
strong relationships that help us earn their continued business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems,
communicating with business owners, and turning challenging conversations into
positive outcomes.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Respond to merchant questions and provide friendly, professional account
support
• Help merchants understand their processing services, equipment, statements,
fees, and account features
• Troubleshoot concerns and coordinate with other departments to reach a
resolution
• Speak with merchants who may be considering cancellation and identify the
reason for their concerns
• Present appropriate solutions, explain the value of their EPS relationship,
and work to retain their business
• Follow up with merchants to ensure issues have been resolved and expectations
have been met
• Document conversations, account updates, and retention efforts accurately
• Identify opportunities to strengthen merchant relationships and improve the
overall customer experience
• Handle sensitive or difficult conversations calmly, confidently, and
professionally
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Strong customer-service and relationship-building skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• A confident phone presence and the ability to de-escalate difficult
situations
• Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
• The ability to listen carefully, identify the real concern, and offer
practical solutions
• Dependability, professionalism, and attention to detail
• The ability to manage multiple accounts and follow-up responsibilities
• A positive, team-oriented attitude
• Merchant-services, banking, customer-retention, account-management, or
call-center experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right
person
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are patient enough to support a frustrated customer, persuasive enough to
save an account, and organized enough to make sure nothing falls through the
cracks. You understand that successful retention is not about pressuring a
merchant—it is about listening, resolving concerns, rebuilding trust, and
showing the value of continuing the relationship.
WHY JOIN ENHANCED PAYMENT SYSTEMS?
Enhanced Payment Systems has been helping businesses with their
payment-processing needs for more than 20 years. We offer a professional,
team-focused environment where strong performance, initiative, and excellent
customer care are recognized.
If you are a natural problem-solver who enjoys helping business owners and
protecting valuable customer relationships, we would love to speak with you.
Apply today by submitting your résumé for consideration.
Enhanced Payment Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
