Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Lakeside Cafe as a Student Serving Attendant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026.
The Student Serving Attendant is responsible for assisting in the food service area, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the dining experience is smooth and efficient for students and guests. The position requires working in a fast-paced environment and interacting directly with customers to deliver quality food and service.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
  • Serves food to customers in a friendly and efficient manner and help assist customers with food choices and menu questions
  • Ensures proper portion control and presentation of food
  • Monitors food temperature and quality to ensure safety and freshness and helps with restocking food items
  • Maintains a clean station, including wiping down front-facing areas and condiment stations, sanitizing workstations, trays, and utensils, sweeping & removing trash

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 25 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Education Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary
$10.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis
