The Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sales Manager to lead our Life Sciences sales efforts across North America (U.S., Canada, and Mexico) and oversee two global Key Accounts. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and direct all sales and promotional activities while driving process excellence, customer centricity, and market share growth. Reporting to the North America Sales Director, you will collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Line Management, and Customer Service to align commercial strategies with company objectives and maximize business success.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning - Lead the development of the U.S. Life Sciences go-to-market strategy. Create comprehensive sales plans in partnership with the Global Sales organization, leveraging sales forecasts, economic trends, corporate objectives, and marketing insights

  • Global Key Account Management - Lead a global key account team to define and execute account development strategies. Organize and optimize global Key Account coverage to build and sustain senior-level relationships, increase PMS market share across select accounts, and drive new offer growth worldwide

  • Performance Management - Monitor and evaluate sales activity and Key Account performance using CRM-driven metrics and regular field engagement with sales representatives

  • Forecasting & Goal Setting - Conduct monthly forecasting with each regional sales representative and support the establishment of individual territory goals. Lead quarterly Key Account reviews and strategic goal-setting sessions

  • Annual Planning - Partner with the Zone Sales Director - North America and the Life Sciences Global Business Development Manager to define annual sales targets, Key Account forecasts, and strategic priorities

  • Market Intelligence - Provide timely competitive and industry updates to Marketing, identifying emerging trends, threats, and opportunities for new products or services

  • Field Enablement - Travel with regional sales representatives to conduct customer visits, deliver hands-on training, and strengthen client relationships

  • Global & Regional Initiatives - Drive the implementation of Global Sales initiatives, with emphasis on Key Accounts, OEMs, and Channel Management. Design and execute the U.S. go-to-market strategy to optimize Life Sciences market coverage

  • Team Engagement - Cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth within the Life Sciences sales team

  • Continuously evaluate processes for improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (technical, engineering, or life sciences discipline preferred)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a sales team manager with direct people management responsibility

  • Minimum 5 years of direct selling experience in capital equipment to the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, academic, R&D, or cleanroom manufacturing sectors

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Key Account Management

  • Residency in the Indianapolis, Indiana area

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and articulate complex solutions

  • Proficiency in sales methodologies (e.g., Miller Heiman), CRM platforms (Salesforce), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and remote teams

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities

  • Sound negotiation and consultative sales skills, with a focus on long-term client partnerships

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first approach

  • Exceptional customer service orientation and commitment to client satisfaction

  • Travel: 40-70%

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of sterile pharmaceutical regulations (cGMP, FDA, USP, ISO standards).

Familiarity with industry organizations such as PDA, ISPE, IEST, and ASTM.

Experience in Key Account management and channel development.

Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and driving sales process improvements.

  • This is a work-from-home position with significant travel

  • This role primarily operates in an office/home-office environment. Must be able to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods of time

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary range: $100,000 - $140,000, depending on experience

  • Commissions eligible

    • Our compensation philosophy: we offer competitive pay based on market data, including local, national, and industry benchmarks. For new hires, offers are generally within the established min- to mid-point of the range for the role, with flexibility to recognize experience, skills, and education. Our approach ensures fair pay internally while remaining competitive externally and allows room for growth.
