The Farmers Insurance - Cody Strickland agency in Astoria is currently seeking a detail oriented, self-motivated individual, with effective time management, and a positive attitude to join our team. As a Customer Service & Sales Representative, you will provide exceptional customer service to our current clients and new prospects, as well as work to support agency growth through new business generation. We are an established agency in Astoria and we are looking for someone that is passionate about serving their community helping people protect what matters to them. This could be the start of long-term, fulfilling career with leadership growth in an extremely stable industry!

This is not a remote position and will be inside my agency in Astoria, OR. Candidates must have customer service and/or sales experience in professional office or in a retail setting. Need to have the ability to work in a team environment, and an excellent professional telephone presence. Must be able to pass state insurance license exam in a window of time after starting and meet continuing education requirements (We will help you with this).

Responsibilities
  • Handle all incoming calls from clients and potential customers.
  • Thoroughly understand and follow all underwriting, rating and compliance requirements.
  • Prospecting and generating new business through leads & referral sources.
  • Maintain client relationships with follow up phone calls.
  • Schedule appointments for Agent to meet prospective customers.

Requirements
  • Strong desire to build a long term professional career
  • Minimum one (1) year of customer service and/or sales experience in a professional office setting or retail environment is required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) and multiple computer platforms (Windows, Google, etc.) is required
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish is highly preferred
  • Previous insurance, real estate, hospitality or banking industry experience highly preferred.
