Summary

The Customer Care Associate (CCA) is a redemption center employee who is positioned on the exterior of the site to assist with greeting/engaging with customers and ensuring that the exterior of the site meets company standards. This involves interacting with customers for the purpose of informing of redemption center policies and procedures as well as welcoming and answering any questions that customers may have upon entry. The employee is responsible for the appearance of the exterior of the building from a cleanliness standpoint to ensure the safety for our staff and customers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular monitoring of assigned Redemption Center properties, including but not limited to the parking lot, the perimeter of the Center, and within the Center (as needed).
  • Maintain the appearance of the redemption center exterior (and interior as needed) including removing all garbage and organization of shopping carts left on property.
  • Reporting irregularities, including but not limited to out of policy events, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations to the site supervisor or AOS.
  • Professionally and politely engages and enforces policy infractions such as daily limits, out of state containers, or other items that might violate our Customer Code of Conduct.
  • Prepares and communicates timely and detailed reports of incidents
  • Educate and introduce customers to Oregon’s Bottle Bill and the BottleDrop system.
  • Adhere to OSHA Safety Standards and OBRC policies
  • Other job duties as assigned

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partners
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., stand for several hours a day, and climb ladders

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Work outdoors in various temperatures/conditions.
  • Exposure to industrial equipment with moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to odors of empty beverage containers.
  • Noise levels in designated areas of the redemption center require the use of approved hearing protection.
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 30lbs.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Push/pull 50+ lbs. frequently (wheeled bag racks).
  • Talking and hearing is frequently required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to stand and walk.
  • Must be able to bend/stoop/crouch/squat.
  • Must be able to use arms/wrists/hands/grasp.
  • Must be able to occasionally climb and balance.
