As Vice President ofEngineering, you will define the technical vision, scale high-performing teams, and drive innovation across complex, data-intensive platforms.Outcomes products are primarilycomprisedof software, both running in the cloud and at the edge,andincludeboth integration with and development of new utility-focused intelligent endpoints.Expected toembed AI-driven design, automation, and engineering intelligence into our development lifecycle while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guideand Develop Talent:Mentor and grow a world-class engineering organization, empowering teams to deliver customer-centric solutions with authenticity and accountability.

  • DefineTechnical Strategy:Define and execute cloud architecture strategiesleveragingmodern engineering practices, distributed systems, and secure-by-designconcepts.

  • DeliverInnovative Solutions:Leveragingboth Itron and third-party endpoints and networks,deliversolutions to our utility customers thataddress their businessgoalsand meet theirexpectations in terms of reliability, accuracy,scaleand security.

  • Embed AI Innovation:Operationalize AI-assisted design, coding, testing, and optimization to enhance velocity, quality, and operational intelligence.

  • Foster Collaborative Culture:Cultivate an environment ofpsychological safety, high trust, and agility, enabling teams to experiment,learn, and own outcomes.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership:Develop effective relationships with Outcomes Product Management and otherinternal teams, as well as across Itron Business Units, to ensure alignment and achieve measurable business results.

  • Performance Excellence:Establishand monitor KPIs for reliability, customer outcomes, and engineering productivity,driving continuous improvement.

  • Ensure Resilience and Security:Promote operational resilience and compliance across the platform ecosystem.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering,ElectricalEngineeringor a related technical field;master'sdegree preferred.

  • 12+ years of progressive engineeringresponsibility, including managinglarge, distributed, technicalteams. Provenexperience architecting and delivering enterprise-grade cloud-based solutions runningMicrosoft Azure, AWS and otherhyperscalers

  • Demonstrated success integrating AI into the software development lifecycle (e.g., AI-assisted coding, automated testing, intelligent monitoring, generative design tools).

  • Technicalexpertisein cloud-native architectures, distributed systems,embeddedfirmware, system-levelAPIs, and large-scale data solutions.

  • Proficiencyin modern programming languages (.NET, Java, Python) and DevOps/CI/CD automation.

  • Strengthsin strategic thinking, talent development, and inspiring high performance.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to alignboth internal and externalstakeholders and influence outcomes.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with large-volume data ecosystems, real-time streaming, or event-drivenarchitectures.

  • Familiarity with regulated or complex enterprise environments.

  • Advanced technical degree or executive-level engineeringmanagementexperience.
