This role is responsible for managing and optimizing UConn Health's web presence to support organizational goals, enhance the patient experience, and drive digital engagement. Key responsibilities include website administration, content management, UX optimization, SEO strategy, analytics reporting, project management, and technical website maintenance. The position collaborates closely with marketing, clinical, creative, and technical teams to ensure websites are accessible, secure, user-friendly, and aligned with brand and business objectives.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Analyzes and evaluates marketing and communication strategies for the hospital's clinical, academic, and research pillars to target new patients, current patients, and other audiences. Applies healthcare communication techniques such as information gathering, plain language messaging, writing, editing, and design to generate creative ideas for targeted audiences and clinical services. Guides the creation of long- and short-format marketing materials from conception to completion in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders. Designs and writes for conceptual campaigns across mediums such as but not limited to print advertising, billboards, brochures, radio, TV, digital banner ads, social media, website, reports, and newsletters for desired results. Proofreads and edits various materials, paying close attention to detail and adhering to UConn Health Style Guide and AP Style. Serves as an expert resource to UConn Health staff and administrators regarding the effective use of brand messaging and identity to ensure a consistent voice and appearance throughout the organization. Keeps abreast of changing trends in the healthcare industry, marketing, branding, mediums, and communication tools. Participates and represents the department and UConn Health at local and national events and meetings. Performs related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Must possess the technical knowledge to manage marketing projects and perform multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment successfully. A strong understanding of marketing techniques, excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and customer service skills, proofreading experience, and attention to detail are a must.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Six (6) years of experience in related field such as marketing, communications, project management.

SUBSTITUTION ALLOWED

A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a closely related field may substitute for four (4) years of general experience. Master's degree in a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience in managing, maintaining and optimizing websites using CMS platforms including content updates, UX/UI improvements, mobile responsiveness, SEO, accessibility (WCAG/ADA), security best practices, analytics, and performance optimization. Experience leading website projects from planning through launch and ongoing support, coordinating with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to ensure high-quality content, compliance (HIPPA), technical operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement based on industry trends and KPI analysis. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience managing websites using CMS platforms such as Sitecore and WordPress. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Experience with project management, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience analyzing website performance metrics and translating data into actionable recommendations. Strong understanding of SEO and content strategy through keyword optimization, performance tracking, and KPI analysis. Experience using industry-standard software for media editing, optimization, and publishing for web use. Knowledge of current web development trends, technologies, and industry best practices.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Familiarity with coordinating technical operations like hosting, domain management, software updates and troubleshooting. Understanding of SEM, pay-per-click (PPC), and social media marketing.

SCHEDULE

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a 60-minute unpaid meal break. Hybrid with potential for full remote.
