Description

Business Insights Undergraduate Internship

We're developing the next generation of Colleagues!
Join the data-driven culture at Citizens and learn how we keep customers at the center of everything we do. We are looking for interns to join our 10-week summer internship program and support innovative data & analytics initiatives across the bank.

Experience during the program

Our program offers interns a unique dual experience:ย

Individual Placement: Interns are paired with a host team within the Data & Analytics community to contribute to ongoing work. Assignments may include business performance analysis, customer behavior research, strategic insight generation, and ad-hoc investigations.ย This component of the program provides direct exposure to teams in areas that align with the intern's educational background and interests.ย

Cross-Functional Project: Interns collaborate with peers and data & analytic business partners on a real-world project, experiencing the full project cycle. Past projects have focused on enhancing customer experience, optimizing business spend, identifying market opportunities, and developing insights that inform strategy.

Interns are expected to work out of one of our headquarters in Columbus, OH, Johnston, RI, or Boston, MA

Please note:ย The Business Insights role spans multiple teams and business areas. As such, specific responsibilities and tools may vary depending on the host team. Interns will be matched with teams to ensure meaningful contributions and strong collaboration.

As a Business Insights intern, you can expect to:

  • Analyze business data to uncover patterns in customer behavior and operational performance

  • Interpret findings in the context of real-world impact-understanding how insights affect customers, colleagues, and the broader ecosystem

  • Measure the impact of new products and services post-release, compare back to forecast, and identify drivers of variance

  • Assist in developing insights that inform strategy and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Contribute to presentations for senior management, translating insights into strategic recommendations

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine questions, validate findings, and ensure insights are relevant and actionable

  • Contribute to the development and interpretation of dashboards and visualizations, ensuring insights are aligned with business goals

  • Present findings and recommendations to peers and business leaders as part of a capstone presentation
