Job description

Warehouse Shipment Processor

This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while accurately receiving, handling, and processing incoming shipments. The position supports a positive customer experience by ensuring products are managed with care, attention to detail, and efficiency in a safe, organized environment.

Essential Duties
  • Provide a safe, welcoming, and service-oriented environment by following all company HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environmental) policies and procedures.
  • Receive and handle incoming shipments with care, ensuring products are accurately unloaded, organized, and staged to support efficient customer service and order fulfillment within a warehouse.
  • Verify shipment details by reviewing documentation for accuracy, including shipper and customer information, billing details, product descriptions, and any special handling requirements (including hazardous materials when applicable).
  • Accurately record shipment weights and dimensions using warehouse systems and devices to ensure proper billing and a seamless customer experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure all required shipping and receiving documentation is complete and processed promptly for smooth order handling.
  • Prepare customer orders for shipment or pickup by labeling, packaging, and securing items to ensure they arrive safely and in excellent condition.
  • Support order accuracy and timely fulfillment by assisting with sorting, staging, and loading freight to meet customer expectations.
  • Package and ship materials in compliance with all regulatory and company standards, ensuring safe and reliable delivery for customers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, customer-ready workspace and appearance to promote efficiency and a positive experience for both internal and external customers.
  • Provide support across operations and assist with additional tasks as needed to ensure excellent service and team success as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum one year of experience in retail, customer service, warehousing or receiving department.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Previous transportation or retail industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of computers; Hand held scanning devices and computerized warehouse management system knowledge preferred
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail, perform work accurately and ability to proof own work
  • Excellent data entry skills including speed, accuracy and thoroughness
  • Excellent Customer Service skills in person and on the phone
  • Ability to professionally serve a variety of people in a busy and fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Environment

This job is performed primarily in a warehouse setting when working with powered lifting equipment, computer systems and other forms of documentation. Some work is performed outdoors when working with customers, receiving and documenting bill of ladings, labeling freight and working with the Dock and Yard team. Exposure to inclement weather and varying temperatures, may be exposed to hazardous chemicals, materials, and airborne pathogens. This position is subject to frequent walking, bending, reaching and lifting.
