Position Summary

The Test Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the implementation and sustainment of manufacturing test solutions in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment. This role manages a team of engineers and technicians while driving world-class product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Test Engineering Manager works closely with various engineering groups, manufacturing, quality, and customers to ensure reliable test solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Test Engineering organization.
  • Manage staffing, performance evaluations, training, and succession planning.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Test Strategy & Development
  • Lead the design, validation, and deployment of:
    • ICT (In-Circuit Test)
    • Functional Test (FCT)
    • Boundary Scan (JTAG)
  • Ensure test coverage meets customer quality and reliability requirements while minimizing manufacturing costs.
Manufacturing Support
  • Provide technical leadership to resolve production test failures.
  • Improve first-pass yield (FPY), throughput, and equipment utilization.
  • Analyze test data to identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies.
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Improvement projects on:
    • Test coverage
    • False failure rates
    • Cost of Test (CoT)
Customer Support
  • Serve as the technical interface for customers regarding manufacturing test solutions.
  • Participate in customer design reviews and technical audits.
  • Support failure analysis and reliability investigations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with:
    • Various Engineering
    • Quality Engineering
    • Operations
    • Customer Engineering
QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
Experience
  • 5 years of electronics manufacturing experience.
  • 5 years of engineering leadership or management experience.
  • Strong background supporting EMS in SMT PCBA and system integration.
Technical Skills
  • Manufacturing test development and deployment
  • ICT, Functional Test, Flying Probe, Boundary Scan, SLT
  • NI LabVIEW, TestStand, C/C++, Python, or similar programming languages
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Design for Testability (DFT)
  • FMEA, DOE, GR&R, and Root Cause Analysis
