Custom Sign Fabricator
 
Position: Custom Sign Fabricator
Classification: Full-Time, Regular
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:00 PM, with potential overtime on Fridays
 
About the Position
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Custom Sign Fabricator to join our team. This hands-on position is responsible for fabricating custom signs and sign components using a variety of metals, plastics, structural materials, and electrical components.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, pays close attention to detail, and enjoys working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate custom sign components using metal, aluminum, plastic, and other materials.
  • Lay out, measure, cut, shear, bend, and form materials according to specifications.
  • Form letter sides, returns, and edging.
  • Perform MIG and/or ARC welding, riveting, stitching, and related fabrication processes.
  • Fabricate structural steel and aluminum components.
  • Assemble sign cabinets and electrical components, including:
    • LED lighting
    • Power supplies
    • Ballasts
    • Sockets
    • Wiring
    • Sign faces
  • Prepare fabricated components for painting and finishing.
  • Operate and maintain fabrication equipment and tools.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Work effectively with team members to meet quality and production goals.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Duties and responsibilities may be modified or expanded as necessary to support the orderly and efficient operation of the business.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical training or previous experience in sign fabrication, metal fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • MIG and/or ARC welding experience.
  • Previous experience working with metal, aluminum, or other fabrication materials.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience operating fabrication machinery is a plus.
  • Sign fabrication experience is a plus
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new fabrication techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform hands-on fabrication work in a manufacturing environment. Candidates must be able to:
  • Weld components in vertical, horizontal/flat, and overhead positions.
  • Use the manual dexterity and hand stability necessary for precision fabrication.
  • Climb, balance, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and navigate around machinery and production areas.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Stand and work for extended periods as required.
  • Safely work around fabrication equipment, machinery, and materials.

Employees may work with a variety of hand tools, power equipment, and fabrication machinery, including:
  • Tape measures
  • Oxy-acetylene torches
  • Radial arm saws
  • Band saws
  • Foot shears
  • 10-foot power shears
  • 12-foot sheet-metal power brakes
  • 10' × 12-gauge steel sheet pyramid power rollers
  • Ironworkers
  • Letter formers
  • MIG and ARC welders
  • Computer-aided manufacturing equipment
