Job description

Painter

Custom Truck One Source is the first true single-source provider or specialized truck and heavy equipment solutions, offering a vast rental fleet, new and used equipment sales, aftermarket parts and tooling supply, world-class service, customization and remanufacturing.

Seeking a Painter with mechanical aptitude, to assist with basic upfitting and finals inspection.

Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm (OT as needed)

Summary:

Paints and repairs damaged body parts and bodies of heavy duty and hydraulic equipment/diesel vehicles in accordance with factory and company specifications using hand and power tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Paint surfaces after performing minor body and parts repairs as needed.
  • Prep products for paint using power and air tools on a daily basis
  • Some fiberglass repair and gel coat.
  • Hammers, shapes, shrinks, expands, files, grinds, sands, smooths, and featheredges surfaces.
  • Perform body and fender repairs utilizing welding, body alignment and structural operations.
  • Repairs body by removing, fabricating, attaching and aligning parts; repairing dents; filling and sealing depressions.
  • Plans repairs by evaluating damage and estimates; coordinating repairs with other required services; gathering parts, supplies, equipment, and tools.
  • Work directly with production manager, service manager, and peers to produce finished products
  • Apply repair techniques using hand and power tools.
  • Maintains quality service by following repair standards.
  • Conduct test drive and final inspection, correcting deficiencies.
  • Maintains supply inventory.
  • Follow safety procedures and policies, to complete jobs in a timely and safe manner.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent. 5 years of experience as an automotive body/paint technician.
  • 1+ year related experience as a collision repair technician.
  • Experience with fiberglass repair preferred.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and understand detail design prints
  • Proficient in modern painting techniques and equipment. Good working knowledge of industrial paints, primers and thinners and knowledge of various machines, painting practices and techniques.
  • Must be able to paint all products in a variety of sizes.
