We are seeking a detail-oriented Integration Technician to join our production facility. In this role, you won’t just be swapping parts; you will be responsible for the end-to-end assembly, configuration, and validation of high performance, custom configured enterprise grade servers and workstations.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced environment, possesses a "measure twice, cut once" mentality, and has a deep understanding of hardware compatibility and firmware optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Custom System Assembly: Build complex workstations and server racks from the ground up based on specific customer Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Hardware Integration: Install CPUs, memory modules, storage arrays (NVMe, SAS/SATA), GPUs, and specialized PCIe expansion cards with precision.
- Cable Management: Execute clean, professional-grade cable routing to ensure optimal airflow, thermal performance, and serviceability.
- Firmware & OS Deployment: Flash BIOS/UEFI, configure RAID arrays (0, 1, 5, 10), and install/configure various operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions, ESXi).
- Testing & Validation: Run rigorous burn-in tests and diagnostic software to ensure hardware stability and performance benchmarks are met before shipping.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate build logs and quality control checklists to ensure 100% compliance with ISO guidelines or internal quality standards.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve hardware conflicts or DOA components during the integration and testing process
- Develop “how to” guides for various models and publish to internal website.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong Organizational Skills.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience building custom PC or Server hardware in a professional integration, VAR (Value-Added Reseller), or manufacturing environment.
- Able to work multiple projects/orders simultaneously with high accuracy and throughput.
- Component Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern chipsets, socket types, DDR4/DDR5 specs, and power consumption requirements.
- Precision Tooling: Comfortable using torque drivers, anti-static equipment, and specialized diagnostic tools.
- Remote Management: Experience accessing remote management interface (HPE ilo, Dell iDRAC) to troubleshoot and validate system configurations as well as update firmware.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with PXE booting, disk imaging, and command-line interfaces for firmware updates.
- Physical Dexterity: Ability to handle delicate components and lift server chassis (up to 50 lbs.) as needed.
- Intermediate level Linux experience.
- 5+ years computer / server hardware experience.
- Intermediate level Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Server+, or vendor-specific certifications (Dell, HPE, Lenovo, , Cisco or Supermicro).
- Networking Basics: Basic understanding of IP assignment and switch connectivity for initial server setup.
- Python / Power Shell Scripting.
- Network based windows deployment.
