As a Location Technician, you will be responsible for supporting vehicles at various locations and events, ensuring they are properly received, positioned, maintained, and prepared for photoshoots, commercials, auto shows, and other customer programs. This is a hands-on position that combines basic automotive work, vehicle detailing, vehicle movement, event support, and day-to-day shop responsibilities. When not traveling or supporting an event, you will work at the facility assisting with the daily operations of the shop.
This position does not have a consistent or set schedule. Work hours and assignments will vary based on business needs, the amount of work available, and upcoming events. Employees are guaranteed a minimum of 40 hours per week, but the days and times worked may vary and can include evenings, weekends, and after-hours support. Travel assignments are frequently provided on short notice, and the team may have limited visibility into upcoming travel or events beyond one week in advance. Employees should be comfortable with a highly flexible schedule and frequent changes to their work assignments and travel plans.
Location Technician Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensure GM customer interactions are satisfactory daily.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained at the highest possible levels of readiness.
  • Travel to on-site events to maintain vehicles and support teams.
  • Coordinate vehicle upkeep daily.
  • Assist with vehicle receiving and shipping.
  • Detail vehicles to make sure they are ready for photoshoots, commercials, and on-site auto shows.
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support when needed.
  • Travel and support various events and programs when needed.
  • Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service's DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision.

Location Technician Qualifications and Skills:
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have some automotive mechanical knowledge.
  • Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Must have exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be a reliable team player.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel to and assist at off-site events.
  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Above-average computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.

Location Technician Working Conditions and Physical Demands Include:
  • 50% of the time this job will be completed while walking.
  • 40% of the time this job will be completed while standing.
  • 10% of the time this job will be completed while sitting.
