HVAC Fabricator

At Mobile Air & Power Rentals, we provide innovative cooling, heating, dehumidification, and power solutions for customers nationwide. Our Rental Solutions Business relies on highly skilled fabrication and technical teams to support, customize, and refurbish HVAC rental equipment used across a wide range of industries and applications.

We are currently hiring an HVAC Fabricator to join our Indianapolis-based fabrication and depot operations team.

What youโ€™ll do:

As an HVAC Fabricator, you will apply your technical expertise in HVAC and control systems to support the fabrication, refurbishment, testing, and customization of rental equipment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform HVAC-focused fabrication, repair, and refurbishment activities for chiller and air conditioning equipment

  • Troubleshoot, test, and repair fleet assets, including refrigerant systems and HVAC components

  • Support shop floor fabrication activities across a range of equipment and custom builds as needed

  • Serve as an on-site, turn-key setup technician during peak seasons or for complex customer jobs when required

  • Operate shop equipment and heavy machinery, including cranes, saws, forklifts, and semi-tractor trailers

  • Complete required documentation related to work performed, testing, and repairs

  • Identify and communicate process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and shop safety

  • Support depot operations, including serving as a backup Depot Coordinator when directed

  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and general depot activities as needed

  • Perform other duties or special projects assigned to support fabrication and rental operations


Weโ€™re looking for the following skills/experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an HVAC, manufacturing, or technical fabrication environment

  • Universal EPA Certification required

  • Strong understanding of refrigerant systems, HVAC best practices, and safety standards

  • Forklift certification required; crane operation experience preferred

  • Shipping and receiving experience is a plus

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and other PC-based programs

  • Ability to travel occasionally on short notice

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners

  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement
