Job description

SUMMARY:

 

This is an immediate opening for a   SUBSTITUTE position within the InterMountain Facilities Management Department. Hours will be based on current need.

   

 EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE:

 
    • High School Diploma or its equivalent
    • 3 years of experience in work relating to the care and maintenance of buildings and grounds
 

SKILLS:

 
    • Strong emphasis on customer service
    • Able to complete projects/tasks in a productive and efficient manner
    • Proficient oral and written communication and is able to listen and get clarification
    • Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and system applications
    • Knowledge of regulations governing work within identified trades
    • Knowledge of applicable safety rules and best practices within identified trades
    • Knowledge of construction and maintenance
    • Knowledge of custodial equipment
    • Knowledge of custodial work, including the use of cleaning methods and materials
    • Knowledge of HVAC systems
    • Ability to work from heights of up to 30 feet
    • Ability to tolerate smells from cleaning products and lavatories
 
  • Exhibit cultural competency and sensitivity with the ability to communicate effectively with all cultural groups
 

RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Security:

 
  • Adhere to building security protocols; including locking and unlocking buildings when appropriate to fulfilling duties
 

 Custodial:

   
  • Sweep, mop, dust-mop, scrub, and vacuum all assigned areas and maintain related supplieS
  • Empty trash and garbage containers daily
  • Clean sinks, counters and tables in assigned areas
  • Clean and stock all lavatories using appropriate tools and supplies
  • Responsible for setting up of call conference rooms and meeting spaces as required/requested
  • Move equipment, classroom supplies and classroom furniture as needed
 

Landscaping:

 
  • Able to perform minor landscaping duties as necessary; minor mowing, pruning of trees and shrubs, etc.
