Nippon Curry Berkeley - seeking Front Staff

Nippon Curry serves an authentic, award-winning Japanese curry, and we are looking for conscientious, trustworthy and reliable full-time staff for our Berkeley location.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at a convenient location directly across from the UC Berkeley Sather Gate.
Front Staff will create positive dining experiences for our guests, continuously demonstrating and improving our Japanese-style service quality. We are looking to hire cheerful, positive-minded individuals who understand true "Omotenashi". Front Staff will be responsible for taking orders using a POS system, serving guests, keeping the restaurant clean and tidy, restocking items, and ensuring that our guests have an excellent dining experience.
Front Staff Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Passion for serving customers.
  • Deliver high-level customer service and "Omotenashi".
  • Utilizing POS, order tablets procedures, and rules for service.
  • Maintaining safety and food quality standards.
  • Keeping customers happy and handling complaints.
  • Ensuring that all areas are kept clean.
  • Helping to manage social media presence.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or GED required.
  • Able to set up, open, and close the restaurant.
  • Able to stand for extended durations of time and work quickly.
  • Able to connect with and anticipate the needs of customers.
  • Must be able to SMILE and be cheerful.
