Core strengths include the ability to focus on building relationships within the institution and the community to assist in the overall coordination of experiential learning services and opportunities adhering to the organization mission and values of authentic engagement, building community, equitable practices that promote race equity, diversity and inclusion, and strengths-based practice.* Build and maintain relationships with individuals, industries, organizations, colleges and other community organizations with the primary goal of internship placement* Partner with the field experts / department leadership to develop relevant internship framework and curriculum* Works with department leaders and community partners to provide a welcoming and engaging internship experience for each intern to ensure a positive experience* Evaluate industry and community satisfaction with internship program* Effectively handle diverse interpersonal and inter-group relationships* Actively participate in industry and community organizations* Partner directly with the local schools, colleges & universities to manage and execute all aspects of the internship program* Organize and implement intern orientations, workshops & culminations.* Maintain frequent and effective communication with interns and department leaders.* Develop a framework and timeline to build and launch the program.* Manage the planning and implementing strategic goals & operating plans for continued growth* Oversee daily activities and responsibilities for the intern programs.* Develop and conduct training for participating supervisors.- Ensure internship program complies with all rules and procedures required by law, as well as meets organizational compliance requirements.* Ability to build authentic relationships with racial, socio-economic, and gender diverse communities.* An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias; and a genuine commitment to equity and inclusion* An ability to effectively work with people from diverse backgrounds, including age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, and lived experiences.* Enthusiastic and positive attitude about changing systems and community perspectives.* Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted, as long as it directly relates to the essential duties and responsibilities.* 5 - 7 years of experience with internship programs in an arts-related institution is highly desirable* 5 - 7 years of experience coordinating, developing and implementing a program or initiative (ideally related to internships, job preparedness or mentoring of high school, university and/or technical school students)* A strong desire for supporting and empowering interns* Ability to understand and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.* Able to quickly build rapport and foster relationships.* Strong written and oral communication skills* Ability to work proactively in a team environment, collaborating across all departments.* Able to interact seamlessly with all levels of the organization from volunteers to executives, including the Board of Directors* Ability to work under pressure, meet competing deadlines and positively adapt to change* Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, both independently and as part of a team.Art and Wellness Enterprises (AWE) provides professional support services in the areas of campus management, communications, finance, human resources and technology for these non-profits founded by Alice Walton:is a grant-making institution working to enhance the quality of life for individuals by providing access to offerings that improve well-being and create diverse and inclusive communities.is a four-year, medical degree-granting program that enhances foundational sciences and clinical practices with a compassionate and whole-person approach to care.
