Curbie information

What is a Curbie?

A Curbie is typically a team member responsible for assisting with curbside pickup services at retail stores, restaurants, or other businesses. Their main duties include bringing customers’ orders out to their vehicles, verifying order details, and ensuring a smooth, contactless pickup experience. Curbies help streamline the process for both customers and staff, especially during busy hours or when in-store access is limited. They may also assist with minor customer service tasks and maintain communication with inside staff to coordinate order fulfillment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Curbie, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Curbside Delivery Associate, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, mobile order apps, and inventory management tools is often required. Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills help you stand out in this role. These abilities are vital for ensuring accurate, timely, and positive customer experiences in a fast-paced retail environment.

What are some common challenges Curbies face during their daily routes, and how can they overcome them?

Curbies, who are responsible for curbside waste and recycling collection, often face challenges such as navigating traffic, adhering to tight schedules, and handling heavy or hazardous materials. To overcome these obstacles, it's important to be familiar with the local routes, practice safe lifting techniques, and communicate effectively with team members and dispatchers. Additionally, staying updated on safety protocols and municipal regulations helps ensure efficient and compliant service.
