Job Summary:
Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress. They are seeking a HPC Network Engineer to design and run the high-performance network that connects their GPU compute, ensuring fast and reliable operations as the cluster grows.
Responsibilities:
• Design, optimize, and scale the high-performance network fabric that interconnects our GPU and CPU compute.
• Build the low-latency networking that keeps our training and simulation workloads fed and fast.
• Own capacity planning and lead network projects end to end, from design through deployment.
• Partner with vendors to select and engineer switches that set us up for the next stage of compute growth.
• Develop scripts and processes that automate network operations and increase efficiency.
• Collaborate across the infrastructure team to solve cross-discipline problems with immediate operational impact.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience designing, deploying, and scaling networks for HPC or GPU compute environments.
• Hands-on experience managing switches across platforms such as Arista (EOS), Cisco (NX-OS), Nvidia (Cumulus), and/or SONiC.
• Solid capacity-planning and project-management skills, with the judgment to scale as we grow.
• Packet decoding/analysis (tcpdump, Wireshark) and knowledge of fiber optics and high-speed cabling up to 800 Gbps.
• Familiarity with public cloud networks (AWS, GCP, Azure) and config management (Ansible, Salt).
• Familiarity with Python, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and GitHub; awareness of data center power and cooling.
• Meticulous attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and excellent communication.
