Job description

We are looking for a talented School to Work - Finance to join our team specializing in finance for our Cummins Inc. facility in Troy, MI

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Enable data-driven profitability insights by extracting and consolidating BOM reports and subledger data, ensuring accurate analysis of product line performance across regions.
  • Strengthen financial reporting accuracy through hands-on support of quarterly product and regional reporting, applying a solid understanding of financial statements and large datasets.
  • Improve reporting consistency and collaboration by supporting product classification efforts and partnering effectively with crossfunctional teams using Excel and ERP systems to deliver timely, reliable financial information.

  • Extract and consolidate bill of materials (BOM) reports and subledger data to support product line profitability analysis
  • Assist with quarterly financial reporting by product and region
  • Support product classification efforts to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Other ad hoc activities as required

  • Basic understanding of financial statements and how to build them
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Strong foundation in finance and accounting concepts to understand financial statements, product profitability, and how data flows through reporting processes.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and comfort with large datasets to efficiently extract, consolidate, and analyze BOM and subledger data.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) to support accurate data retrieval, product classification, and financial reporting.
  • Attention to detail and organizational discipline to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness in quarterly and ad hoc reporting activities.
  • Clear communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional partners and support shared financial objectives.
  • Adaptability and initiative to manage onsite responsibilities, handle ad hoc tasks, and continuously learn within a fastpaced, flexible environment.
