Job description


You will provide program leadership for the development, qualification, and transition to production for advanced Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems targeted for the Defense and Space marketplace where this technology yields high benefits. This is a key Honeywell strategic technology thrust which raises the importance and visibility of this role to high leadership levels.
Your ability to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams will help align projects with business goals and customer requirements. By developing and implementing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, you will ensure efficient project execution and delivery. Monitoring project progress and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets will help maintain project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
You will report directly to our Director of Program Management and you'll work out of our Tempe, Arizona location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the Control Systems business unit by ensuring the successful execution and delivery of engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage programs to ensure successful execution and delivery
  • Lead and manage key proposals
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Employ PM tools and development processes, including earned value management (EVM), statement-of-work (SOW), work-breakdown- structure (WBS), basis-of-estimate (BOE) management, scope / requirements management, scheduling, and cost management.
  • Establish and own a programmatic Management Operating System (MOS)
  • Partner with Program Control (PC) team member(s) to review and analyze cost and schedule metrics to make data-driven resource decisions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery before they become critical issues.
  • Ability to communicate program management and financial issues to all levels, effectively linking program performance with financial results and product line strategy.
  • Ensure overall portfolio financial performance to AOP and STRAP.
  • Drive critical program management policies as a change agent, including:
    • Ensure Adherence to IPDS, Flawless Launch and On Time Launch
    • Change control and risk management identification & mitigation
    • Baseline Management and Scope Change Control Operating Systems.
    • Drive Free of Charge Hardware achievement
    • Collaborate and mentor integrated program teams and help onboard new program managers.

Qualifications
US PERSONS REQUIRMENT
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
YOU MUST HAVE
  • 8+ years of experience in engineering program management
    • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget
    • Proven track record of expertise using Earned Value Management tools and processes to manage complex program schedules and budgets.
    • Strong leadership and project management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
    • Experience in risk management and problem-solving
    • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
