We provide culinary, enrichment, sports and leadership development programming to students, teams, adults and families across New York City.


Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic, highly organized, and proactive Program Manager to serve as a vital liaison between our organization and program sites across all five NYC boroughs and lower Westchester.


In this role, you will oversee site operations, supervise on-site personnel, manage key partnerships with principals and after-school supervisors, and ensure that all equipment and supplies are delivered seamlessly while actively helping to expand the company.


Note on Travel & Physical Requirements:

  • Vehicle Required: You must have access to a personal, working vehicle. You will be required to travel across multiple boroughs in a single day, stock sites with supplies, shop for program needs, and transport equipment.
  • Physical Ability: Equipment can weigh up to 100 lbs, and many sites do not have elevator access. Physical strength, stamina, and agility are essential for carrying equipment up and down stairs.


Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Site Liaison & Oversight: Serve as the primary liaison between Keys to Abundant Life leadership and staff at all sites. Conduct weekly site visits to monitor programs, observe projects, and evaluate performance.
  • Supervision & Quality Control: Supervise on-site supervisors. Identify successes, weaknesses, and operational challenges regarding chef instructors, facilitators, and teaching artists. Develop and implement clear procedures/systems to resolve issues.
  • Relationship & Partnership Management: Foster, build, and strengthen relationships with school principals, after-school supervisors, and NYC agency partners. Independently represent the organization at site and constituent meetings.
  • Hiring & Onboarding Support: Assist in screening, interviewing, and referring potential teaching artists, culinary instructors, and on-site supervisors.
  • Logistics & Supply Management: Stock sites with necessary materials. Research, organize, and facilitate field trips alongside instructors. Assist in organizing company storage units and equipment.
  • Equipment Delivery: Transport heavy equipment (up to 100 lbs) to and from sites without elevator assistance.
  • Administration & Operations: Collect weekly attendance sheets from supervisors, create supporting documents for invoicing, and maintain outcome-driven performance standards.
  • Growth & Outreach: Actively engage new leads, conduct outreach calls, set up initial meetings, and lead presentations on behalf of the company to expand partnerships and sponsorships.


Skills & QualificationsMandatory Requirements:

  • Background Clearance: Must undergo fingerprinting and receive formal clearance from the NYC Department of Education (DOE).
  • Transportation: Must possess a reliable working vehicle and a valid driverโ€™s license.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift, carry, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 100 lbs up and down stairs.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree required. (A Masterโ€™s Degree in Business Management, Public Health, Public Administration, or Education is a strong plus).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a non-profit or corporate environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience building organizational partnerships and sponsorships.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience coordinating, managing, or supervising individuals.


Key Competencies:

  • Youth & Community Engagement: Strong interest in and experience working with children. Comfortable collaborating with various NYC agencies, school sites, corporations, and community organizations.
  • Communication & Outreach: Must be outgoing, enthusiastic, and confident when calling new leads, presenting, and facilitating meetings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organization & Adaptability: Outstanding time management skills with a proven ability to balance multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Superior constituent/relationship management skills, a high level of energy, and a commitment to giving and receiving constructive feedback.


Preferred / Bonus Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the health, nutrition, and culinary education fields.
  • Experience with grant writing.
  • Bilingual/fluency in a second language.
