CTR Group is seeking SHEETMETAL MECHANICS / JOINERS - 1st Class for a Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS. This is a long-term position, initially for 1 year.
Pay Rate: $38.00 per hour DOE Plus $147 Per diem for non-local candidates
SUMMARY:
Seeking Joiner / Sheetmetal Mechanics with experience in sheet metal installation work on board ships.
Fabricate, assemble, install and repair bulkheads, wood and metal articles, interior wood finishes, cabin accessories, wood and metal deck structures. Responsible for the proper mounting off furniture, racks and bins, partition bulkheads, decorative ceilings, and false decks, as well as other outfitting items.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, Master Tech Certification nice to have
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Joiner or related craft experience in shipfitting, carpentry or sheetmetal and be able to pass the Tacker Certification test.
  • Must have experience with carpentry/shipyard
  • Ability to comprehend complex ventilation assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches to include weld symbols, material types, datum and reference lines
  • Able to layout all joiner inclusive of bulkheads, doors, ceilings, shelving, furniture, consoles and all attachments from drawings with minimal supervision.
  • Able to prefab/install bulkheads, doors, ceilings, shelving, furniture, consoles and all attachments from drawings with minimal supervision
  • Able to mark out, shoot pins, and insulate deck head, side shells, beams, and all duct with minimal supervision
  • Able to run metal and operate shear and break
  • Able to read metric and standard tape measure
  • Able to measure duct /fittings and install same
  • Able to mount and install equipment such as valves, air hangers
  • Understand the principals of interior painting and be able to accomplish same
  • Functional working knowledge of blueprints and construction information
